Appcore AMP™ is Verified as Citrix Ready

Appcore and Citrix have been working together to deliver cloud environments for service providers for some time now. You may not know it, but Appcore has been installing and configuring CloudStack environments since before Citrix purchased Cloud.com in 2011. Since founded in 2008, Appcore has installed and configured over 30 service provider public and private cloud environments.

Appcore has continued to use Apache CloudStack as its orchestration layer for our cloud automation software. Today Appcore is taking their strategic partnership with Citrix to the next level by announcing that Appcore AMP™ has been verified as Citrix Ready®.

“Given the success and user growth of Appcore AMP since early 2013, the time was right for us to further enhance our ongoing relationship with Citrix. We are extremely proud that Appcore AMP is now Citrix Ready verified. Citrix CloudPlatform provides Appcore AMP with the most relevant cloud orchestration tool designed for service providers”, stated Appcore CEO Jeff Tegethoff.

What is the Citrix Ready Program?

The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix. Appcore AMP completed a rigorous verification process to ensure compatibility with Citrix CloudPlatform™, providing confidence in joint solution compatibility.

The Citrix Ready program makes it easy for customers to identify complementary products and solutions that can enhance Citrix environments. Customers can be confident that Appcore AMP has successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix, and can be trusted to work effectively with Citrix CloudPlatform in order to simplify the management and installation for service providers.

“Businesses need tools to manage both legacy and cloud-native workloads running in public and private clouds,” said Krishna Subramanian, VP of Product Marketing, Cloud Platforms Group at Citrix. “Appcore AMP provides a single management and monitoring interface for both workloads in any type of cloud, enabling Citrix CloudPlatform customers to further simplify manual processes without removing control.”

How did Appcore get verified?

Citrix has many levels of verification and each process is unique for each product. A specific test kit had to be followed demonstrating the interoperability of Appcore AMP with Citrix CloudPlatfrom. The baseline test plan was divided into scenarios that reflect possible deployment configurations of Citrix CloudPlatform. Appcore had to demonstrate and successfully meet selected qualification criteria. Each test case had to be documented and included specific settings and software versions. Appcore provided the Citrix Ready team with this specific documentation:

  • Management Server Logs
  • Code Review
  • Live Demo of Product Integration
  • Database Validation

What does this mean for our customers?

Appcore provides the architecture, configuration, installation, training and support for Apache CloudStack and now will also do the same for Citrix CloudPlatform. Appcore AMP is a software solution that provides management for both public and private cloud environments, incorporating a simple user interface for administrators and integrating with add-ons such as billing and support ticketing.

Citrix and Appcore are now working together for customers that have already installed Citrix CloudPlatform but are looking for additional cloud automation. Appcore AMP also features a single UI to manage and monitor multiple instances of CloudPlatform with the backing of Citrix.

This strategic alliance also benefits customers looking to implement Citrix CloudPlatform as their new cloud environment. Appcore specializes in architecting custom Citrix CloudPlatform solutions based around your specific business model and customer base. Appcore also works with service providers who need additional customization on the installation.

As you can see, Appcore’s relationship with Citrix is just another reason why service providers are choosing Appcore AMP to deploy public and private cloud environments.
